Hi!
I'm Amber Goodwin
I am always and forever a creative soul. I'm a Mississippi native, and have always loved all things learning and artsy. I am now channeling those interests and passions into my work here at Amber Black Studios.
In my 5 year career as a Learning Designer, I have enjoyed designing dynamic and innovative curricula and online courses that follow industry best practices. This means I can create full courses and curriculum, any materials supporting those courses, or stand-alone resources (think worksheets, handouts, booklets, games, icons, videos). I strive to make all these products engaging and enjoyable for the end users because learning should be fun and not a chore. I’ve also designed websites for small businesses including this one!
I am committed to making engaging materials that are accessible and that utilize inclusive design principles—all while using a collaborative approach. The things I create are not for me, they are for the end users aka you and your clients.

Empowerment
Our founder, Amber, has always been a curious and creative multipotentialite—wanting to soak up knowledge about and try out any and everything. She desires to bring her love of learning and curiosity to the masses which led her to create Amber Black Studios.
Curiosity
Empowerment
We strive to give clients as much autonomy as possible during our time together. We like to see ourselves as a guide with a cool toolbox, helping you to realize YOUR ideas and dreams. We'll make recommendations but YOU are the final decision-maker.
But don't just take our word for it. Hear from our satisfied clients who have experienced the transformative power of our work firsthand.
Creativity
Amber grew up in rural Mississippi. When she wasn’t outside, she spent countless hours immersed in PBS Kids and Discovery Channel shows.
Television programs like Zoom, Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, Strange Days at Blake Holsey High, Zoboomafoo, Cyberchase, and Myth Busters fed her appetite for learning and fueled her fascination with the world around her.
She used this thirst for knowledge and her imagination to design science and engineering experiments and to create arts and crafts.
Collaboration & Teamwork
With a background in both social work and learning design, coupled with a passion for creativity, Amber brings a unique perspective to every project.
At Amber Black Studios, we’ve helped our clients kickstart their educational programs, provided expert feedback on their creations, and elevated their brands with captivating visuals and websites.
Engaging and Enriching Content
Inspired by visionaries like Cas Holman (inventor of the Rigamajig), Fred Rogers (of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood), Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrissett (creators of Sesame Street), and Jim Henson (Muppets creator), Amber set out to create alternatives to traditional classroom instruction, believing that curiosity knows no age limits and learning should be a fun and engaging experience for learners of all ages.
Belonging, Representation, & Accessibility
As a Black, queer, woman-owned and operated company, Amber Black Studios is dedicated to promoting a sense of belonging and representation in all aspects of our work.
We strive to ensure that our services are accessible to all individuals, creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone.
